Artist Statement

Romagean hales from the rule mountains of South West Virginia.  After selling a painting at age 6 starting her on the way to becoming an artist.  Her life has been spent in the arts, as a teacher, and gallery owner. Life has not always been easy for her when she becomes distraught her reaction is to simply ask God for His guidance.

Through the years Romagean has studied in the US and through Europe and the United Kingdom, recently you could find her in Florida working on paintings of that states 29 lighthouses.

Because of a tragedy in her life, she did not paint for a very long period. Instead, she started to compose poems. Then January 1, 2014, Romagean began to paint just one painting each day no larger than

3”X5”.  This has evolved in her painting daily, either in her studio at home or on the easel she had in her gallery.  Each painting becoming a little larger, while all of them were just seen she has imagined and put together in her mind.  Now her paintings have evolved into larger ones with a poem that accompany each painting.

For no one knows what they will face each day as we awake.  Only that the day ahead of us holds some unexpected happening that we have no control over what so ever.  Because of this, we must learn to deal with the ups and downs of our lives.  The choices we make and the way we handle the everyday life experience will affect both us and the people who are involved in the situation. Romagean starts each day out with a prayer of thanking God for the life He has blessed her with.
