Traveled to Alaska last month with my Strathmore watercolor sketch book. This little book of 8.5in. by 5.5in. was easy to manage. The pages are thick so they did not curl as they are 400 series. My pan was also a small box with just a few colors, brushes are the ones that contain water in their handles. With this setup I was able to take them on the plain with no problem.
While on the ship it was quite easy to work in a small area allowing me the freedom to capture quick sketches as we sailed through the Fjords of Alaska and Canada. It was also an easy way to meet and make new friends.
